Iowa Bioptic Laws

Bioptics are not permitted.

1. Visual Acuity: 20/40 in the better eye, with or without corrective lenses.
2. 20/50 in the better eye: restricted license (daylight only).  
3. 20/70 in the better eye: restricted license (daylight only, up to 35 mph).
4. Visual Field: 140 degrees: no restriction. Between 115 and 140 degrees: certain restrictions.
5. Bioptic telescopes are not permitted to meet visual acuity standards.
