Louisiana Bioptic Laws
Bioptic are permitted for driving and to pass the licensure test.
- Visual Acuity: 20/40 in the better eye, with or without corrective lenses.
- Bioptic drivers must have at least 20/200 in one eye. 20/60 with the bioptic telescope. Driver must have 30 hours behind-the-wheel training Must have report from optometrist or ophthalmologist and pass the drive test.
- Visual Field: 110 degrees Horizontal (if monocular: 40 temporal & 30 nasal)
- Restriction “E”: no motorcycle or scooter; no night or adverse conditions
