Maryland Bioptic Laws

Bioptic are permitted for driving.

• Visual Acuity: 20/40 in each eye with or without corrective lenses.
• Visual Field: Continuous field of view of 140 degrees.
• Restricted license: up to 20/70 in one or both eyes and a minimum 110 degree fields with at least 35 degrees lateral to the middle of each side.
• VA with 20/100 are treated case by case for bioptics. Telescope acuity is not specified.
