Massachusetts Bioptic Laws
Bioptics are permitted with some limitations.
- Visual Acuity: unrestricted, 20/40 in the better eye, with or without corrective lenses; 120 degree field;Must be able to distinguish red/green/amber colors.
- Restricted: 20/70 in the better eye, with or without corrective lenses; 120 degree field; distinguish red/green/amber colors.
- With bioptic: 20/40 through telescope, 20/100 through carrier and same VF/Color requirements. The other eye must be at least 20/100.
- Telescope restrictions: 3X and non-focusable scopes only.
