South Dakota Bioptic Laws

 Bioptics are permitted for driving and to pass the licensure test. 

• Visual Acuity: 20/40 in the better eye, with or without corrective lenses.  
• 20/60 in the better eye with restrictions. 20/70 or less must have a left outside mirror.
• Visual Field: No mention in the regulations.
• Bioptic telescopes are permitted to achieve the acuity requirements.
• A road test with the bioptic is required.
